Baseball Is Weak

It's the beginning of the end for baseball:

Report: MLB to use replay starting Thursday

This will be bad for baseball. Some things to consider:

1) It's use will be limited to home run calls. Yeah, right. The first blown non-home-run-call in the playoffs will expand that zone pretty damn fast. First it'll be expanded to all scoring plays. Then to plays that end an inning, or plays that move someone into scoring position, or who knows what. But the use will expand. It's just too tempting, once it's in use. And then baseball games will get even longer.

I love long baseball games, as long as they're playing baseball the whole time. I will not to sit an extra hour while umpires review video.

2) Somehow, baseball has managed to survive, nay, prosper for well over a century without video replay. And now it can't continue without it? In fact, it's so pressing, we need a rule change in mid-fucking-season? It's bad enough that they changed ball caps this year. Honestly, who wants a polyester monstrosity with ear cutouts? That's no a ball cap! Oh sure, players like 'em. So what? We're paying their damn salaries, not the owners, not MLB. We are. Wear a goddamn wool ball cap!
